Because we do not have a centralized facility that houses animals, we rely on foster homes to care for every pet in our program. Our volunteer needs are focused, flexible, and essential to saving lives.
The Adoption Coordinator guides animals through adoption by communicating with foster families, coordinating vet care, sharing updates, organizing bios and photos, reviewing applications, arranging meetings, attending meet-and-greets, and handling post-adoption follow-up.
Foster homes are the most critical part of our program. Because we are not limited by building capacity, the number of pets we can help depends on how many foster homes we have. For more information about fostering, click here.
To help more animals, we need to grow. This role responds to inquiries, meets with prospective volunteers, processes applications and training, supports youth volunteer projects, and represents CHS at events.
Youth volunteers can help by organizing supply, litter, or kitten food drives, sharing CHS social posts, and hosting bake sales or small fundraisers. Reach out first so we can help you choose the right drive and materials.
